What can affect your quote?
  • Floor area and storeysThe published bands step up with size; a double-storey house takes longer to bring down and produces more material.
  • Construction typeFibro and weatherboard come down faster than brick veneer, and full brick or concrete takes the longest to sort and remove.
  • AsbestosBonded asbestos removal is quoted from the assessment. Friable asbestos is removed by our Class A licensed partner.
  • Access and machineryNarrow frontages, battle-axe blocks and steep sites limit the machine we can bring in, which changes the time on site.
  • Pools, slabs and retaining wallsStructures beyond the house are priced as their own items so you can see what each one adds.
  • Council, certifier and utility feesApproval and disconnection fees are set by others. They are itemised separately in your written quote.

More demolition FAQs

How much does house demolition cost in Mount Druitt?

House demolition in Mount Druitt starts from $15,000 for a small house (under 150 m², single-storey fibro or weatherboard) and runs to $45,000 or more for a very large or complex home. Access, suspected asbestos, additional structures and the handover you need shape the quote. Our demolition cost guide lists each category’s inclusions and what is quoted separately.

Do I need council approval to demolish a house in Mount Druitt?

Blacktown City Council requires all demolition to meet Australian Standard 2601 and SafeWork NSW (formerly WorkCover) requirements. Small structures like sheds, awnings and fences can conditionally come down without approval; anything else needs a DA with a site investigation (including asbestos), work plan, site plan and waste management plan. Gabrael prepares and lodges the application and confirms whether the work goes ahead as a DA or a CDC once we have checked the planning controls for your address.

Are there heritage rules in the Blacktown City Council area?

On heritage-listed properties and in heritage conservation areas, the council does not issue tree permits; tree work there needs a DA with an arborist’s assessment. We check whether your Mount Druitt address is in a conservation area or individually listed before planning the demolition.

Can I remove trees on a Mount Druitt block?

A permit is needed for trees over 3 metres high and/or with a trunk 200 mm or wider at 1 metre above ground, while routine pruning and deadwood removal are exempt. Applications take up to 28 days after payment, or 48 hours for an extra urgent fee.

Does flood or bushfire mapping affect a demolition in Mount Druitt?

Blacktown City Council says some parts of the city are bushfire prone, and its maps can be viewed at the council’s Information Centre.

What if my Mount Druitt house contains asbestos?

Gabrael holds Class B licence AD211249 and removes non-friable asbestos, such as bonded fibro sheeting, before demolition, with approved disposal and clearance documentation. Friable asbestos is removed by our Class A licensed partner. Our asbestos guide explains the steps.
